Thank you for taking the time visit the website and becoming a better citizen.
As a West Point cadet, Ric lived with the honor code – “A cadet will not lie, cheat, steal or tolerate those who do”. In light of the recent breaches of integrity in the North Carolina state house, Ric chose to make a statement about integrity by printing a copy of this honor code, crossing out the word “Cadet” and replacing it with “Representative” and placed it on the door to his office in the Legislative Building and on his desk on the floor of the house chamber to show all those that he always has been and remains committed to the highest standards of integrity.
Father, husband, soldier, businessman, Roman Catholic, leader and legislator are all ways to illustrate the breadth of life experiences Ric draws upon as he works towards solutions to the problems facing North Carolina. During his first term, Ric’s experiences enabled him to effectively influence public policy and pass three new laws, a significant accomplishment for any legislator much less a first term member of the minority party.
Built on a foundation on integrity, with many years of lifetime experiences, Ric’s strength is simply his ability to lead. Beginning with high school class leader, through West Point and an Army career, to today where Ric serves as the Republican Freshman Leader in the North Carolina State House, leadership is the quality that has always distinguished Ric.
